Carousel & Layout Grid
I am trying to insert the Carousel EXTENSION (not Carousel Layout) into a Layout Grid, but it will not insert.
I don't want to use the Carousel Layout.
My question is ... why can't I drag the Carousel EXTENSION into the grid?

What do you mean by the Carousel EXTENSION do you mean the Carousel Object?

Re: Carousel & Layout Grid
There are 2 Carousel objects. One is located in the Layout section, the 2nd one is located in the Extensions section.BaconFries wrote: Sun Apr 13, 2025 8:08 pm What do you mean by the Carousel EXTENSION do you mean the Carousel Object?
The Carousel object that I am using is the one located in the Extensions section.
They each have different charactistics.

What is the name of the extension? When I check my toolbox, I just see carousel and image carousel but I may not have that extension installed.

This is the two carousel objects in the "Toolbox" that I know of. If you are using an "Extension" can you please name it

I guess there are 3 instances of the Carousel then.
This one is in the Extension section:

I'm not familiar with this one. When you open the properties of that extension, in the bottom left who does it say created it?

Re: Carousel & Layout Grid
OK can you please go to your "Extension Manager" and note who the developer of the Extension is. The only one I can find named Carousel was by Eddy who is no longer active and no longer support provided.
Barbara please also note that all of the extensions listed in the screenshot some by myself, Adendum, zinc and one by Pablo are no longer available or not supported or are deprecated

Yes, Eddy is the creator of the extension I am using. The extension works perfectly fine at my end so I am not looking to changing it.
I was just wondering why I can't add it inside a grid.

Re: Carousel & Layout Grid
More than likely the extension was created way before layout grids were being used. Just guessing here, but It may have been built with an older version of extension builder that didn't support grids yet.

Re: Carousel & Layout Grid
Barbara what browser/windows are you testing with? as far as I remember the "Extension" is "Flash" based which isn't supported in "Modern" browsers as of 31st December 2020. As well as not being supported "Flash" and its "Player" have security issues and it has been advised to remove from your PC for that reason. See the following.

https://blog.adobe.com/en/publish/2017/ ... ash-update

With this I would not recommend to use given the security issue and that the extension is almost 17yrs old and not supported.Adobe Flash Player EOL General Information
UPDATED: 13 January 2021
Since Adobe no longer supports Flash Player after 31 December 2020 and blocked Flash content from running in Flash Player beginning 12 January 2021, Adobe strongly recommends all users immediately uninstall Flash Player to help protect their systems.
Some users may continue to see reminders from Adobe to uninstall Flash Player from their system. See below for more details on how to uninstall Flash Player.

I really like the functionality of this extension. The other 2 versions of this type of object (layout carousel & image carousel) do not function the same. I have many object plus hyperlinks added to each of the pages of the carsousel. The other 2 objects don't let me do that.
Here's my webpage that I am using this: https://www.paracordpetcollars.com
Is there any other type of extension that will do the same thing?

You could create something very similar with Cards.

Re: Carousel & Layout Grid
The page link you supplied looks like the normal carousel to me. It's not using flash. Is this the correct carousel?

Re: Carousel & Layout Grid
Yes. I created this site over 5 years ago with WWB V11.crispy68 wrote: Mon Apr 14, 2025 2:20 pm The page link you supplied looks like the normal carousel to me. It's not using flash. Is this the correct carousel?
The object I used was the Carousel located in the Extensions section of the program.
This object will not drag into the layout grid.

Re: Carousel & Layout Grid
Really confused here first your writing the above is what your using and it clearly states its flash and then the url to your site clearly shows its not. Also it shows a url to quickandeasy web builder which is not the same as WYSIWYG Web Builder!Actually, Pablo created this one. Here's the information from the Help button.

Why not? you can add a hotspot (link) to the images in the Carousel you gave a link to. It is as simple as combining the two images and then apply the hotspot to place your order...I have many object plus hyperlinks added to each of the pages of the carsousel. The other 2 objects don't let me do that.
Re: Carousel & Layout Grid
I also think you are mixing up things.
