Layout Grids WW18 not responsive?

Post by pewe »

I am led to believe that using Layout Grids in WW should eliminate the need to set responsive variations in a project.
However, I have downloaded a template that uses layout grids - the Digital Agency one - and find it responds differently from viewing on my computer full screen, on the computer screen with reduced browser width (to 500 pixels wide), and on my phone which has a screen resolution of 1080 x2400 as shown in the following screenshots.

I am probably missing something here - can anyone explain what it might be?

Layout grids are responsive by design.
But you may have added a non-responsive element to the grid. For example, an object that has a fixed width.

If you need further assistance then please share a DEMO projetc so we can see all your settings.

What puzzles me is that I have done nothing to change the template.
It is a blank project created simply using this template https://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/suppo ... gency.html downloaded from the templates section to create a new project, make no changes then save it and preview the result

The template works for me.
However that the template was designed for screens wider than 480.
In this case, the 'welcome' grid has a huge gutter (200 pixels), so if the screen becomes to small it will break the layout (at(200px+200px+heading width).
But of course this has nothing to do with layout grids. It was just a design choice.

Thanks. Changing the gutter worked - not having used Layout Grids before I obviously need to spend a bit of time experimenting and studying any info I can find to understand the characteristics they use.

Thanks Alan, nice template and it works - unfortunately the layout was not suitable and it would need much work to change it to suit. However, there is another project where it could be ideal.
