Website 1st try

Post by Varail »

Hi everyone
Im a new member of the WYSIWYG family and as you might be aware Im a bit crushed by the amount of information I have to deal with.
Coupled with my little secret www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDyXCGLxK94&ab_ ... meniiCramp the task ahead of me is getting tenfold harder :D .

Im not doing/trying anything fancy here so it shouldn't be that hard of anyone familiar with WWB ( which by the way it looks like an incredible piece of software - Great job Pablo !) however at this point its pretty frustrating for me since Im not sure what I should learn first since for my at this moment basic needs Im positive I can get along with some basic lessons but the question is I dont know which ones exactly..

Anyway Im going to upload the "project" for anyone kind enough to provide some feedback.

The problems I deal at this point are these :

1. Header is fine..Im happy with it
2. The Menu under is a mess..Im not able to center it in page
3. Next there is a section where on the right there should be a diagram of a bridge hand (HTML) and on the left a short summary of it with a (Read more) follow up.

I keep using layout grids for everything and I cant seem to position object in the grids properly.
The "Read more" will have a link to another page with the full bridge hand in the same style..the bridge hand diagram on the right and explanation on the left. I tried to link the read more to another page but it keep telling me it doesnt find as you can see for yourself.
Im also not able to position the diagram of the hand in the page. I have to also place it in a border somehow..

4. The Images on the bottom should lead to the other pages of the webside.
The most difficult one at this point is I need one of them to lead to an Archive page where every board discussed on the main page will be stored eventually.
I need to store them in a list of small pictures but when I hover on any of them there should be like a magnify glass or something that will give a short preview glimpse for you to decide if that was the information you are looking for in order to access it next.

5. Im looking forward to your feedback regarding any other things that can improve the page from style , look to accessibility and functionality..anything really.

English is not my 1st language , very sorry. Thank you for following my rant ..

Here is the .."thing"

Thank you again

2. The Menu under is a mess..Im not able to center it in page
- Open the properties of LayoutGrid2
- Select the column
- set the alignment to 'center
3. Next there is a section where on the right there should be a diagram of a bridge hand (HTML) and on the left a short summary of it with a (Read more) follow up.
Although I cannot help you with third party code, it is important to understand that the code will be published "AS IS".
So, if it does not work then either code is invalid or there is a conflict with other code on the page.
4. The Images on the bottom should lead to the other pages of the webside.
You can use the 'Link' tool to link the image to another page.
Related tutorial: http://wysiwygwebbuilder.com/links.html

Mouse over effects can be created with the 'rollover image' object or events.
5. Im looking forward to your feedback regarding any other things that can improve the page from style , look to accessibility and functionality..anything really.
You are using layout grids, which makes the layout flexible. However, the image at the bottom of the page use absolute positions.
The images should also be in a layout grid or other (flexible) container.

Also, can you please use a new topic for each question because otherwise it may quickly become very confusing.

Thank you, Pablo.
The reason I didnt do it it because I will probably have around 1 000 000 questions and I don't want to flood the forum.
I will go now compile the new info.

Update

2. Fixed
3.
"Although I cannot help you with third party code, it is important to understand that the code will be published "AS IS".

The HTML code DOES work as intended I have no quarrel with it. This is how the bridge hand suppose to show.
Its just I have to place bridge hand resulted in an element that I can move around in the page and define a border to it.

4. I did use the link tool to link it to another page its just that Im getting this error as it can be seen in the project on preview.
