Link colour ...

The links on my webpages are currently a dark blue colour. The website background is black so the links are very hard to see.

I have changed the settings in page properties/styles/links to brighter colours but it does not effect/update the webpage.
I used the 'publish all files' option during the upload.

Do I need to change some other setting as well ?
