Deactivate on old machine and install on new one

Post by mike_kallet »

Hi. I've use WYSIWYG over many years and on multiple generations of computers. I just purchased a new computer and reinstalled both version 10 and version 11 as I'm in the process of migrating. I used my corresponding registration numbers for each, and while I got the confirmation screen, the about box says they are unregistered (I also get the WYSIWYG logo on the pages). Guess I've upgrading computers too often :) How do I deactivate the versions on the computers I'm retiring so I can register the versions on the new machine?
Thanks
Mike

Did you activate the license on the new computer?
Was there an error message?

Yes, I did activate the license on the new computer, with no error ... but in the about, it says "not registered" and I get the WB logo on the web page. I reinstalled and did it again, and the same thing happens.

Update. OK, working now. It says to restart the app after registering. When the app came up after registering (i didn't restart it), I assumed (mistakenly) that it restarted by itself. Obviously not. When I exited the app, and then restarted, all is well. Suggestion ... when registering the app upon first execution, exit the app automatically, so the dumb user like myself has no choice but to rerun the app. Thanks for your reply.

Is there an FAQ or pertinent thread(s) which address the subjects of how many installations one can make, deactivating on an old machine , and related stuff? I had little luck with searches.
Thank you.

On this subject, it is timely to ask what is probably a silly question. I suppose it is possible to download the demo version on a zillion computers, as long as they are just the demo: yes?
Thanks.

If you remove the user account from the computer then all your personal settings will also be removed.

This is something you will need to doion your Windows Settings->Accounts
It does not affect your license count.
