Privacy and Cookies

Notes:
This project demonstrates how you can implement a cookie consent popup on your website.

The idea is that third-party scripts are not executed unless the user gives permission for a specific category (for example: Statistics or Marketing).

The cookie consent banner:

• Is displayed automatically when no consent cookie exists
• Stores the users preferences in a consent cookie
• Loads only the scripts that match the users accepted categories
• Allows the user to reopen the dialog later to change their preferences
• Allows the user to remove/reset consent at any time

Preparing your scripts

To ensure scripts are blocked until consent is given, you must prevent them from running by default and mark them with a consent category.

Instead of a normal <script> tag, use:

Or for inline scripts:
<script type="text/plain" data-consent="marketing">

Supported consent categories:

• necessary (always enabled)
• functional
• preferences
• statistics
• marketing
