Webp files are not rendered in my WWB 18.1 interface

Post by alextinfr »

Several days ago, I installed WWB 18. I started a new project, and decided to use webp images instead of jpeg´s. I worked for a while and saved my work. At this moment all was fine. Today I decided to resume working on my project, and when I opened it. I could not see any of the webp images. If I open a layout with a webp background and chage it with a jpeg version, then de wwb interface shows the image with no problem, but if I reload de webp version, the image disappears in WWB. I published the page to see what happens, and I can see the webp´s on my browser without any problem. The same is happening with the image objects.
From when I started my project to when I noticed the problem, I only used office applications, but before all this, I cloned my 500gb to a 1tb ssd disk and substituted it as the main windows disk. WWB 18 was first installed on the new 1tb disk. When I started my wwb project I had the two disks working on my laptop, but by the time I noticed the problem, I´d removed the 500gb old disk. I mention this because at the moment that I removed the disk, I noticed that some Microsft Store apps where not present any more, I had to reinstall them. So I decided to uninstall and reinstall WWB 18.1 on my computer with no luck.
I am using WWB 18.1 64 bit in a Windows 11 64 bit version.
I include a link to my project files and included a screenshot of the wwb interface with the invisible webp images: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AgKgn6uYU4OwgrUAH7- ... g?e=4Vf1qq
And the link to the published page: https://maquilia.com/mq/

Thanks in advance I hope You can help me,

Sincerely,
Alex Fragoso

The filenames of your images are invalid. They should not have spaces or other special characters.

See this related FAQ:
viewtopic.php?t=131

I have downloaded your project and the images seems to load correct. Maybe your system needs a reboot?
Also, keep in mind that the images are rendered by Windows, the software has no control over which image formats are supported by your system.
For example, webp is only supported on Windows 10 and newer.

Hello again and thanks for your response!

I changed all the filenames of the images, but WWB keeps not showing webp´s on the intarface. I am using windows 11, so the compatibility with windows should not be an issue, and consider that, when I just installed wwb version 18 it was working all fine.

I have rebooted the system several times, uninstalled with complete registry clean the wwb18, and installed it again, with no luck, same problem.

I have opened this webp´s with every single program that supports webp in my computer, without any problem. All of them render the thumbnails or the image just fine.

In the link to the files of the wwb project https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%21A ... 98AB9FA002 I included another screenshot, where you can see WWB alongside windows explorer and xnView showing the same webp (us flag).

I hope you can help with this issue, or point me in the right direction to solve it.

Thanks in advance!

If it previously worked then it's unlikely that this is directly related to the software.
As mentioned, webp is a standard Windows functionality, the software has not control over whether or not it is supported.
Maybe the 'WIC codec' for WebP has been removed or became corrupted?

I installed the codecs you mentioned from this page: https://codecpack.co/download/WebP-Code ... ndows.html, and It worked!!!

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!

By the way, I am a WWB user from several years, I think since version 8 or 9, I don't remember exactly, but I've loved it from the beginning. Congrats it is a great software, keep the good work!
