Master Page creation issue

Hi,

New to this software. So far I like it allot but in most other software the Master Page is usually set up to automatically show things like menu bars, banners and what ever else (like social media buttons) on ALL of the pages. I seem to be lost in how to go about doing this. I read through and tried to follow what was required to make that happen on this page: https://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/master_page.html but it's not working. I've followed it to the letter but not seeing any elements on my other page so I guess I need more info.

What exactly is not working? What did you do?
Did you try the examples?
Do you have a DEMO project so I can see what you have done?

Here is a screen grab of the Page properties and the Site Manager which you can see has a created Master Page and this is it's properties. I chose the mis tab since that was where I was directed to make sure it's set to Master Page.

I don't have access to any public upload area besides DropBox until I get things squared away with building the website.

To include an image in your post:
- upload the image to your website or another public server
- include the link in your post

However, usually a screenshot is not useful.
I need to see all your settings.
If you need help then please share a demo project.

Again, I do not have a website at this time so all I can do it share via Dropbox. I hope that will do, if not then I'm stuck here.

Whatever page is your 'masterpage' you need to click the select button (in your image) and choose this page. This should be entered on each of your web pages (not in the masterpage).

Example, lets say you masterpage is actually called 'masterpage', go to your home page --> click on page properties --> Miscellaneous. Make sure Type = Master Page. Click on Select and you should see all the pages in your project. Choose 'masterpage'. Do this for all other pages except the masterpage itself.

Follow my directions in previous reply for it to work.

One thing I noticed is you need to keep your objects within the page boundaries. Your pages are set to 970px wide but your green line and images are way outside of this boundary which is going to cause issues with horizontal scroll bars. Also, the index page should be your home page. The way you have it set up is not correct.

The strange thing about this set up is that I don't have any boundaries that I can gauge how much I need to reduce the images or bars. I don't seem to know where or how to enable like a bleed line or anything to indicate that.

The line in your workspace is the right edge of your webpage. see below on your masterpage:



You will notice above how the green lines and images are beyond this boundary.

This can be set in the page properties under page width. It will be good for you to read the help and look at examples to get familiar with the workspace and what things are for. If you go to Tools --> Options --> Grid and Guides, there are other options you can set up to add guides, rulers, etc to the workspace. Remember, the help file is your friend.
