*** SOLVED *** General setting for table's font color

Post by mareemj »

Dear Pablo,
I am importing a number of rows into a table but I do have problems to set the color of the text. Selecting individual text is working fine. Setting the background color to a dark brown for table is working fine. But I haven't found a way to set all the text in the table to a white font (with one setting).

Is it perhaps related to the following and is there maybe a fix?

Will be appreciated.

The color picker is intentionally disabled, because you cannot change the text color like this. A table is basically a collection of individual text objects and just like in a text object the text color is a character style, not a container/paragraph style.
So, the only way to change the color is to highlight the characters and then apply the color.
This is related to the way Windows internally handles text (character) styles but I will investigate if I can find a way to work around this."

To change the color of all text in table:
- select all cells.
- hold the shift key and click 'Cell properties'
- change the text color
- click 'ok'

Thank you Pablo for quick response.

I updated the PayPal number. I noticed the number you sent me is different from the one PayPal sent.

I am feeling stupid but I am not succeeding. These are my steps:

1. Insert new table. 3 Columns x 1 row. Import CSV file with 50 rows.

2. To select all cells I use: Table tools; select (on the ribbon); table. (There isn't a options for all cells, just single, row or column)

3. Then Right click?? ; cell properties; style; then select custom style with different font color. and apply.

I am missing something somewhere!
I am not sure how to select all cells,
and I cannot see the "cell properties"

Appreciated.

Hi Pablo,

Resolved!

I understand now that you have to press shift and then select 'cell properties' from table ribbon'. That gives the extra option to set the color of the text.

Appreciated.
