A defined variable (» Page - Site Properties - Use Defined Variables... «) in a Banner ( » Insert - Drawing - Banner « )

Variables only work with text or code. A banner is an image so the text cannot be replaced.
If you set the output format of the banner to 'CSS' then it will work.
If you set the output format of the banner to 'CSS' then it will work.
