Using YouTube and Vimeo Videos as Background

Just wondering about using these videos as backgrounds (page, layer, layout grid, etc.).

How does this work?

Do you need permission to use these videos?

If the videos are your own (made by yourself) then you should have no issues. If they are not then they may be copyrighted to which you will need to seek permission to use from the original owner (copyright owner). European law recently changed with article 13 being introduced regarding the use of images, memes, music and the likes of YouTube Videos. Before using you should check all copyrights. Note this is unrelated to the software.

The reason I asked is that I saw a video tutorial and it seemed that a video was picked at random and used as a background.
