Website is fine in local view, but when I publish, no site is found
Hello,
I haven't used WYSIWYG since version 12 (have version 20 now), so I am trying to remember how to do things. I can preview my site and it is correct - all the pages are how I want them. But when I publish using Filezilla, I either get pages with old info, or now I am getting an error screen that says "Hmmm...can't reach this page". I have also tried clicking on the "Copy publish log to Clipboard", but nothing happens and I have been unable to copy the log. I am stuck with no clue how I reached this point. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

It sounds like you are publishing to a local folder and then using filezilla to copy the files to your host (which is actually what I do).
If that is correct, then it looks like you are not copying all files from the local folder to the host.
If that is not correct, what are you using filezilla for?
Alan

Did you set the log level to 'all'
Are there any errors in the publishing log?

Alan,
Thank you very much for your post. The last time I used WYSIWYG to publish a website was 2017 and evidently I've forgotten more than I thought
I do remember just using the program to publish that site, not through FileZilla. I went to my host site (using Free Hostia) and deleted all the files and recopied them from the local folder for the website, so at least I know that those are the current and correct files. So then I published using the FTP function, and unfortunately the images for the navigation bar and the shapes around the logo title do not show up (just little boxes that indicate a picture should be there but isn't). I've tried to insert a screenshot but can't locate how to insert it (sorry...).

You can't upload to the forum for security reasons. If you wish to share a screenshot you can upload to your own site and provide a url to it or you can use the following https://imgbb.com/ and provide a urlI've tried to insert a screenshot but can't locate how to insert it (sorry...)

Re: Website is fine in local view, but when I publish, no site is found
Alan,
Well, I'm not sure exactly what I did to fix this (have been at it for 3 hours), but the website has published correctly with all images showing. WooHoo! There is one little weird thing though in the header, if you hover the mouse next to the logo at the left, it picks up "www.forensicsignatureauthentication.com ... _page.html", and if someone were to click on it, it says "object not found". Not sure how to get rid of that...
Thank you again for all your help, it was greatly appreciated!

Thank you Pablo, yes the log was set to all, and no errors showed up. I think I just had too many conflicting files, and probably too many different places. I have corrected it and the website now shows up, with one minor weirdness which I posted about. That's a problem for another day, but at least I now have my husband's website live! Thanks again!Pablo wrote: Fri Apr 25, 2025 5:34 am Did you set the log level to 'all'

What's the URL of the web site? I am happy to have a try and see what I get out of it.ssolis5788 wrote: Fri Apr 25, 2025 6:45 pm Alan,

Thanks Alan! The url is www.rs-fsa.com. That mouse-over link is annoying, but at least I got the site published

Have you fixed it? I don't see that at all. No links when I hover the mouse over the logo at the top left. Using Firefox.
