Post by VEDRAN »

Hi Pablo.
Thank you for the previos support. I like your work alot!

I have a project that was initialy built on v17, then bought v18 when I transfered the project into v18. Then I worked on it for a year or so, then bought v19 and transfered/opened the project into v19, but then these problems appeared.

Text3,'Segoe UI Symbol' font is missing.,The object uses a font which is not installed on this system.
Text2,'Segoe UI Symbol' font is missing.,The object uses a font which is not installed on this system.
Text1,'Segoe UI Symbol' font is missing.,The object uses a font which is not installed on this system.

I have also got this problem too, but I couldnt reproduce it.
Text250,'Bookman Old Style Bold' font is missing.,The object uses a font which is not installed on this system.
etc.
Many messages with this font missing.

See the following two similar posts. There is a update (hotfix) that should resolve this.

These options deos not work for me.
Pablo wrote: Sun Dec 03, 2023 12:03 pm To solve this:
open the text object, select all text and then apply the desired font.
I would have to do (select/change font) to thousands of text files, extenstions etc. to do this. as it shows similar errors for Embedded page, Marquee etc. (font missing) I have more then one project. Some have more then hundred pages. Nothing special in them for some, but for other, a goldmine.

The other option from the other post:
Pablo wrote: Mon Dec 04, 2023 10:50 am I have released an hotfix which should fix the issue with (semi) condensed Google fonts.

Build date (12/4/2023)
https://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/download.html

Please let me know if this works for you.
I have found no hotfix. I have a newest version wwb19.

But thanks for trying to help

The link I have gave includes the hotfix...when a hotfix is applied it will still have the same version number it is done this way as it is easier on Pablo having to compile the full source...
Note this was only released today Mon Dec 04, 2023 11:50 am
From the man himself!

I have download your project, but I do not get see error. It works for me.
Maybe your system does not have 'Segoe UI Symbol'?

Do you also get the warning in WB18 if you try it now?

Well, as you can see in the picture I sent, the errors are there.
I have a project version prior I switched the project into v19 and it does not have these errors if opened using v18.

How I made the DEMO and how got the errors in the first place?
I have made this DEMO project by opening the project that was created using v18, but now opened with v19. A soon as I opened it, it showed me these errors. Then I copied a few texts from that project which v19 was showing as there are errores in them into this DEMO project.

So, it happened when I switched my project into v19.
Not every page gets these errors, but some do. On the pages where I do get them, I copied a few of those texts, and I got errors.
When I open the projet using v18 (the backup project file that was never opened using v19), no errors like these shows.

Well, strange if nothing else.

The project you have shared works for me, so it difficult to tell what is wrong.

Note that the font 'Segoe UI Symbol' is used in your project, so if you do not have the font installed then the error is correct.
If you do have the font, then maybe the software cannot access it?
For example, because it's blocked by a firewall or virusscanner.

So, something has probably blocked acces to this font to version WB19, but it did NOT denied access to WB18, as it works normaly without errors in WB18??
Very, very interesting, if nothing else. But it is possible now, dough.

One of the solutions you offered in a post with simmilar issue is to, I quote:
Pablo wrote: Sun Dec 03, 2023 12:03 pm To solve this:

viewtopic.php?t=98062

It is actualy Arial font. All three texts are Font Family: Arial.
Pictures:

Where did you actualy saw that they are: font 'Segoe UI Symbol'?

I am sure this issue will be resolved in some of the next subversions of WB. Still, it is a possibility that it is on my side and my side only.

Anyway, if not on my side...
I do understand that: this is pretty complicated so it may take longer than usually. Any changes made to fonts may have a huge impact on the software's behavior so this must be tested extensively before I can release an update for this.

Thanks

I MUST add: a GREAT GREAT softvare with small bug here and there, but more than Excellent job! Keep it up.

Maybe you can also try it on another system so we can be sure this is not an issue of your computer only?

The other issue with fonts has already been solved. However, I can only solve 'bugs' if I have enough information to reproduce the issue. The project you have shared works for me, so that makes it difficult to fix it if it ain't broken...
