ISP upgrading to PHP 8.3

Post by tlsel »

Hi,

Our ISP is upgrading to PHP 8.3 and asks us to confirm our website is compatible. Our site is straightforward text built with Pablo WB 19. DO you foresee any problems if we upgrade to PHP 8.3?

Thanks

Are you using anything in your website that requires php? Ex: a contact form? Either way, WB will be compatible.

Although problems may or may not occur depending on complex php codes or situation it is better to test your site in different versions and confirm if the website performs correctly on oldest or even the latest php versions. In that way you can confirm it yourself if your website is ready to be lifted to the PHP 8.3 version.

I dont know if your ISP allows multiple php versions on your cPanel (if this is the case), but to be honest php 8.3 is in it's earlier stages, would be smart of them to keep ver.8.2 instead (or previous) because it will not offer great stability in the beginning, a lot of things will be happening, like bugs, etc...
