*** SOLVED *** Version 19

Post by arunas0813 »

Good day,
I performed a migration from WYSIWYG Web Builder 18 to WYSIWYG Web Builder 19.. There are 2 problems:
1. Icons from the master page are displayed incorrectly on other pages (they are empty- empty fields) in preview or after publish.
2. When checking page errors (error reports), it is written that there are no BALTIC fonts. For example, Arial Baltic (because I use Lithuanian letters)
I have been using WYSIWYG Web Builder for several years and I have not encountered these problems.
Hope you can find a solution! :)

1. I am not aware of any problem with icons
The icons in the project you have shared, work for me.
Did you publish all files?
Are you using the latest update(19.0.1)?

2. Arial Baltic is an alias, I don't think it should be used as a webfont. You can the standard Arial instead.
To replace the font go to Tools -> Global Replace -> Font

Thank you, after the update to 19.0.1 the problem with the icons disappeared.
Problem No. 2 - the text is displayed correctly in html page, only the error reports utility shows that there are problems with fonts.
Of course, maybe I can just ignore it..

I use standard Arial, but I also use Lithuanian letters (ĄČĘ...). I think that's why the error report records it as an error.

"Arial Baltic" is not web safe font, so it may work on your system, but it will not work Windows systems that do not have "Arial Baltic" and also it is not available on MacOS, Linux or mobile devices.

I do not have Arial Baltic on my computer. But the text in your project looks correct for me as far as I can tell.
Did you try to use standard Arial instead?

I understood You.
And I only use standard fonts, and have done so for about 10 years using WYSIWYG Web Builder…
All texts are displayed correctly on html pages on MacOS devices. Only the Error report utility has not fixed this until now.
I think everything will be OK... :) Otherwise, I can't write in Lithuanian... )
Thank you for the quick and clear answer!

Additionally, I have found this information:
Arial baltic is not a real font, it is a virtual font provided by
Windows since 95 to programs, which do not understand unicode. That´s
not perfect.
Windows has a font "Arial" which is coded unicode. For programs, like
pagemaker the Arial unicode is splitted by windows into different
codesides like Arial CE, Arial baltic, Arial kyrillic etc. These fonts
are showed in Pagemaker, but they do not really exist.
WYSIWYG Web Builder does support Unicode so here you can use the standard Arial font instead.

I think it's just windows settings and the Lithuanian language keyboard in the system.
In WYSIWYG Web Builder, I can't even find an option to set Arial Baltic, but error reports record it :)
I think maybe it is, because I have set General-Language- character set- to Unicode (UTF-8) in page properties.

For HTML5 pages, the character set set should always be set to UTF-8

'Arial Baltic' is not a real font so that is why WWB cannot find it. I thin it's safer to use Arial or another font instead
