Anyone using WYSIWYG Blog writer?

Post by northstar »

I would like to communicate with those who are using the built in blog writer in WYSIWYG. My knowledge level is way beneath what I need to master this and would love to get your input, advice and suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

What exactly do you want to know about the blog?
Did you read the information in the help?

Hi
I need help with Blog as well.

Basically we run a small online shop - https://www.giribizzi.co.uk/
It is built with WB and integrated ECWID shop

We need to add a BLOG and face several design issues.
Main problem is that it will be run by the owner of the site and he uses Macbook only.
Is there any way to allow him to add to blog online, without using WB software?

Thanks

The built-in blog can only be edited via WWB.
If you want to update the content online then the CMS may be a better choice.

Although I did use WWB to do blog and not a cms blog although I can, I still did experiment with cms blog which was lacking dynamic card creating. and could not design more creatively on how the blogs show in the container as it is loaded directly from the CMS Blog. I needed more design freedom so did it custom.

But here is my blog and I can design it any way I want it. The best part is It stays inside my WWB project file not like the CMS blog which is only kept in the database and not in your wysiwyg web builder project file. Meaning the database gone all page gone. Same for the WWB project file. But I would rather choose blogging using WYSIWYG web builder editing feature rather than doing it online from a dashboard as I can add edit delete instantly and in one click upload it. That means I get more customizable than any other way of blogging.

Here is just a simple blog that I made for some experiment: CLICK HERE

I also have a beta version of my website where I do crazy experiments with enhanced or advanced features.

THis is very interesting. Would you mind sharing if this was a blog you coded from the ground up or blog code that you have found and embedded in your own website please/

I am designing a web site based on the ide that the viewer is reading a book and cant wotk out if chapters should be blog posts or seperate pages. Hence my interest.

If I may say so, wwonderfull can probably make almost anything happen and the pricing (if going paid) is very reasonable. Just a little shout out from a satisfied customer :D

I used wwb purely only when I am missing something I used custom codes. 98% is made from wwb rest of it took custom codes. More than features it takes technique. So first what I see is the design. Any dream design can be achieved even with wwb. What it needed is you have to remember all the features WWB has and combine it in the head and verify if the design and function would be possible.

Could not understand that please elaborate.

Probaly due to the spelling error.

I am creating a web site based on the idea that the viewer is reading a book. I have yet to work out if I want the pages in the book to be blog posts organised into chapters that remain forever, as opposed to being deleted with each new entry, or if I should just write the chapters as seperate html pages.

Now one way to do it is using absolute grids which most of the people would try to do because of the custom design flexibility, but the problem it will face is responsive web design so if early precaution is taken then the same design can be achieved in responsive layouts but the thing is that as you said to make it like chapters then you can use masterframe to make the books frameworks and the rest of the connected pages to be the body content of the book design which is on master page.

Depending on how many page what is the design what are the functionalities it may change how it may get developed. As you said it is a blog it will have some functionality which wwb may have and depending on how the function works the design and development may take more adaptation.

Do you have any sketch or demo how you wanted your book like blog or page to exactly look like maybe sketch it on paper with pencil or online link example for an existing webpage.

A vision can start a mission :)

We use the PHPJabbers blog. It uses an online dashboard for your user to make updates and post. It integrates nicely with WWB.
Several developers paid for some nice enhancements that we can share if you purchase a license (inexpensive; get the developer version)
Our enhancements include a separate widget to display the three most recent blog posts to a page other than the blog page. Nice way to have current content on the home page.

Thanks for replying .

I do have a vision in my head and I have started sketching on pen and paper as pictures, back in the day I would havewritten the HTML on paper, bit tsadly that was 20 years ago and I'm relearning coding.

I'll stick up a sketch once things are clearer in my mind.

So I have sketched out where I think I'm going.

visually it's the same as every other bland website out there,to me they all seem to follow the same design path these days.

Sadly, I don't see a means to attaching it as a file

You can't attach files on the forum directly. Either upload it to a public server or exchange through e-mail.

If you have visualized and made design visuals you can show the image samples when you can.
