Update 18.2 problem with blog

Post by joseluz »

Hi.
In the update to version 8.2 there was a problem with the blog, previously when adding an entry it had two tabs, the article tab and the link tab, now the article tab does not appear, the link for this is https://montealto.edu.mx/wwb18.html

There are no changes related to the Blog in the latest update.
I have tried it myself an it works for me.

Are you sure you did not change something else on your system?

You are right, I installed it on another pc and it works, my problem is that I uninstall it on the one I use, delete the wysiwygwebbuilder file from my documents, restart the system and install the software again and the error continues, the strange thing is that it recognizes my license, pay extensions and recent files.

I do not think it is related to the update. It's more likely a system related issue.

Maybe the file msftedit.dll was removed from your system?
This is a standard system file, but is used by the blog for the text editor.

Did you try a system restore?

I went back to installing previous versions and in the one from February 28 it works, then when installing the one from March 10 it no longer works. This is the link with the February 28 version https://montealto.edu.mx/wwb18_feb.html

I installed the 32-bit version and it works, the problem is only with the 64-bit version in the February 28 and April 14 updates.

It also works for me in the 64bit version.

If I did a system restore, a windows.old folder was formed and in both there are 4 folders that contain msfedit and the differences are the creation dates in windows.old are two from 2/4/2021, one from 7/12 /2019 and one from 10/15/2021, however in current windows there are two from 4/10/2023 (it was when I did the restoration), one from 12/7/2019 and the other from 9/7/2022.

I think you should focus on the one that is in the system folder C:\Windows\System32

The version I have is 10.0.22621.608
Note that this is standard Windows file, it is used by many other applications.

My file is 10.0.19041.1288 in Spanish Mexico Language, when I restored the system something must have failed, I plan to change my hdd for an ssd to perform a clean installation, for now I will use the 32-bit software. I really appreciate your help, with your software and extensions I have learned a lot and improved my projects since I started in 2013 with version 8. You do an excellent job.
