Tricks to use one project in two separate pc

Post by wb_user »

"wb can install on three pc" this is good thing, but how can coordinate one project on two computers?
for example, if one user create one project and try to work on that on separate home & work pc, how is possible?

You will need to copy the project to the other computer or create a share.

I do this all the time between home and office... I have a nas.server that I sync the wb projects on. I also sync the different parts in wb:s systemfolder for keep the functions of the software similar for each project, for example the publish.dat, themes.dat. Also important to have the same fonts installed on the pc:s you sync between.

Personally, I automatically sync with GDrive and have never had any problems, machines always synced and ready.
Of course not access the same file from two machines at the same time, but one at a time.

Best regards.

I share projects with my Synology NAS server as the host. I use Synology Drive to create a folder shared with my PC and my server. Do the same on my laptop. Works fine. You can do the same thing with Dropbox.

Yes it probably will. I've not tried that, but it looks similar to Dropbox.

I test goodsync and it very useful for this work.

in pc1: the software first scan local folder & google drive
after that it copy files in google drive.

in pc2 : software scan local folder & google drive
after that it copy google drive files to local folder.

---------------------------------------------------------

after work on wb project in pc2 : software scan local folder & google drive
after that it sync only changed files to google drive.

in pc1 : software scan local folder & google drive
after that it sync only changed files from google drive to local folder.
