In your newest version you can create a page with the same name as folder.
You can create it even on the same level as the folder.
But that's about it.
After creating it, You can't move it with arrows, only by draging it with mouse.
And once you move it, you can't put it again on the same level as folder with the same name.
So, you can create it on the same level, but after you move it, it won't go on the same level again.

Re: Folder and page same name
I cannot find anything wrong. Are you using the latest update?
Can you please describe the exact steps that do not work for you?

Re: Folder and page same name
Create new project.
Create a folder in root directory.
Create a page in root with the same name.
Try to move the page with arrows above (navigation) in site explorer.
Create some pages before, so you can see, that you can't move the created page.
You can move it only by picking it with mouse and putting it into another page.
This will work.
After it, try to move this page to root again.
No go.

Are you using the latest update (2/11/2021)?

Re: Folder and page same name
It was not announced here in forum yet, I've had the January version.
I've updated it now, it's working
Also, great to have sitemap without extensions now.
With this added possibility of creating pages with same name as folders, I don't have to edit SiteMap on server level anymore. Or create is elsewhere.
I still must edit every page because of CDN. And with several hundred pages and daily updates, this is not possilbe.
But I don't think this matter could be solvable in program already?
Images should still be sent to "images" folder on server, but then have a different address (CDN) online in html.
Without CDN, these days, in competitive niches, you have no chance globally.
In c-panel you can add CloudFlare and it's working, but this CDN is very slow (confirmed in many measurements).
