Shape, text, colour

Post by Joel »

A text object merged with a solid coloured shape should be so simple but the text does NOT show when viewing in browser.
Colours in a browser are completely different to what I chose, eg #FFDB48, #F7AF09 or #C00000.
Text published as an image looks ridiculous.
Shape with a gradient frame comes up with either no frame or solid frame.
It's driving me nuts!

Any possibility the errors can be fixed?!
I can't work like that, it's a waste of time :x

Joel, you may not be approaching this the right way. WB is not designed to produce images and Pablo has already explained in your other posting the reasons why. What most people would do in your situation is to use an external program to produce the image and then place that image into WB. For a simple image you could use Paint which you can find under Windows Accessories or for more complex work, the free program IrfanView. By doing it that way it will save you hours of frustration :)

The merge option, simply merges the pixels of all selected objects and therefor it only works with images. It was not designed to do advanced blending like in dedicated image editors.
Text cannot be merged with a shape because text characters are not solid pixels. The edges of characters are anti-aliased. If you merged the pixels of the shape and text then you will end up with a solid pixel (without an alpha value).

I'm confused now!
I don't want to confuse things but I've used merged shape objects with text objects many times with no problems.
I find them very useful.

Here is a text object and a shape object merged.
Could it be that it only works well on some shapes and not others?

BTW the text is a lot sharper than this screen shot.

WWBman, exactly! No problems in version 12.

Pablo, what about the colours and gradient frames and text published as image? There were no problems in previous versions :x

The problem is if you use Publish Text as an Image.
Don't use this option and you may be OK.

If a function is included it should be usable. I tried to use it because with normal text object I cannot get the desired colours. The published text colours are completely different. The Logo function is not longer included. None of the available text functions will keep the colours

Btw, I'm using the same version as you, that's why all the issues

Hi Pablo,
Please, compare the colors in the program and once published.
What the purpose of text published as image if these are the results?
