Non Publishing Comment (object) - FIXED

Hi

Had a trawl through the formum and can't see an answer. Is there a way to create a text field (or any object) on a page that is not published?

I'd like to add notes and comments to some pages (to remind me) but not have these published. I know I can create a text field and hide it (but would then miss the comment!) or have text field 'Hide' when the page loads but the latter does quite often flash up on the screen when the page loads and, by some fluke it does not hide, may show importand/private info, so that's not an option.

Ideally, a 'Notepad' object, not published, just an object that sits someone on the page and not actually part of the web page, etc, would be great.
