Starlight Manor & Marine Conservatory
Constructed in 1890 on the rugged Atlantic cliffs outside Halifax, Starlight Manor served as both the familial homestead and a world-renowned marine observatory. Arthur mounted a custom 12-inch brass Cooke refractor in the stone cupola, while Eleanor cultivated cold-weather flora in the heated conservatory below.
Today, Starlight Manor remains protected under the Vance-Sterling Archival Trust as the permanent pilgrimage seat for all five generations of living descendants.
