Hold top few lines so they dont scroll upwards

Can someone help me please.

I would like to hold the top third of my website pages so it remains locked in place when the rest of the page is scrolled up or down.

A perfect example of what i want to do is the YouTube home page where the line with the search box and the one below with categories stays where it is and the rest of the page appears to slide underneath it as you scroll the page up and down.

Please tell me there is a simple way to this

In the layout grid properties select Position > sticky. The grid and contents will stick at the top.

I dont really understand what you mean. I have no layout grids on my webpages

If you do not use layout grid then you can use a 'sticky layer' or page header.
There are several examples of this in the template section:
