Unite Slideshow and LayoutGrid

Post by terryfoster60 »

I have a layoutgrid in the middle of my page and I am trying to anchor the Unite Slideshow into the center panel of a three panel item.
The United Slideshow places in the layout grid pane at design time but when it does live the slideshow bounces outside the layout control and hides behind my header above.

Is there a setting I need to alter please

Thank You

To be able to help you, I need a DEMO project (.wbs file) so I can see all your settings.

I do not need the complete project because that will only take more time to figure out what you have done.
Basically, I just need a small project with one page and object(s) that are relevant to your question.

Note that I cannot see what you have done based on the published page (HTML), because the software has thousands of options and millions of possible combinations.
So, there is no way to know which options you have used by looking at the HTML only.

For further details about how to share a project file, please see this FAQ:

The project uses a paid for version of the unite control.
Will you be able to open it?

Yes, of course.

Please do not share the extension.

Many apologies - I do not know of a site where I can upload a file and share.
The ones I see listed on google want money.

I have sent it by email as your site does not have a facility to upload a file.

Many apologies.

You are using the embedded page the wrong way.
An embedded page is a fixed/absolute container, it cannot be used inside layout grid.

Please see these examples how to re-use elements in flexible layouts:

Master page:

Tutorial:
https://wysiwygwebbuilder.com/master_page.html

Master frame:

Tutorial:
http://wysiwygwebbuilder.com/master_frame.html

Also, I am not sure how this is related to the Unite Slideshow?
If you need help then can you please remove everything from your project that is not relevant to your question, that will save me a lot of time to figure out what you have done.

I did everything as mentioned in the examples.
I created a master page with a header and footer and content area in the middle

I then ceated a page and set the use master to the master page.
Whatever I do - it will not let me scale the unite or any graphic tool without hiding underneath the header.
I sent you a simple project by email - I cannot illustrate the issue any better than a master page and an index page with the tool on it.
When viewed on the index page the tool hides behind it.

Maybe wysiwyg is not capable of handling this.
I can use a picture but not any carousel.
I need to be able to set the information in a layout panel in the content area so that I can restrict the page width - otherwise it goes to full screen.

I'll try something else...

I think you are trying to do too many things at the same time.
You have a question about a different subject almost every day:(
It may be better to focus at one thing at a time.

Please send me a simplified version of your project. Just the basics, no extensions or other tools that are not relevant to your question, so I undertand what you are trying to do.

It is not surprising that I have so many different things going on when you consider I am putting 16 hours a day into this project.

I used to program static sites perfectly - mobiles are different.

As previously mentioned, I think you are trying to do too much at the same time.
You first need to understand the basics before you can put everything together.

For example, you are mixing different layout modes (fixed/absolute and flexible). So, that is why your layout does not work.
All objects on the page should use the same layout mode otherwise they conflict with each other (overlapping, etc).

Also, there is no need for this many breakpoints, especially when you are using layout grids.
You make it more difficult than it needs to be.

This tutorial attempts to explain the different modes:
https://wysiwygwebbuilder.com/layout_modes.html

In your project, the Unite Slideshow is placed directly on the page, so it has an absolute position.
The object on the master page, use flexible layout (layout grids).
That is why the Unite Slideshow does not take the master page objects into account.

The reason why I keep asking you to use the forum, is that other users may be able to help you based on their experience and explain it in their own words.
My suggestion is to either use layout grids (flexible layout) OR fixed/absolute layout (with breakpoints). not both at the same time.

Step 1
Remove all breakpoints. Add them layer (if you need them)

Step 2
Put all objects on the ‘index’ page in a layout grid.

Ah! I am undrstanding the concept now.
Some aspects working now - great.

I have posted my latest effort at
https://ourartgallery.azurewebsites.net ... xBoxV3.zip

I have three issues here.
1. The header row with the product is not automatically collapsing to the height of the textbox which is the only item in this row

2. The Unite control is not expanding to the whole area

3. The grid is set to a maximum width of 1200 but the allergens row is going full width of screen. I want it to stay contained within the grid.

Thank this group for all efforts and help this far

You are not using layout (as suggested) but you are using a flexgrid.
If you are a beginner then I suggest to use layout grids. Then you have less settings to worry about...

1. The height of the header is set to 100px so it has a fixed height.
2. The height of the Unite slider is fixed. It does not expand.
3. HTML tables are not responsive . So, they may behave unexpected in a flex grid.
