Ok so I experimented and here's what I found.
Pics were taken with a phone camera in landscape, this is important.
You can take 2 landscapes with a phone.
Hold the phone in its normal portrait position, you can rotate the phone left or right to take a landscape photo.
1 will be upside down the other will look normal but both when viewed look normal.
Importing into your project the program will display the pics as taken, upside down or right way up.
Previewing shows all pics the right way up (so far).
________________________________________________
Using an exif tool there's a line for orientation and indeed 1 says normal and the other says rotate 180
Editing the rotation data of the pic,Rotate 180 changed to normal with exif editing software
pic appears now upside down when viewed in windows/folder
both are upside when imported into the 'image/carousel etc'
previewing shows original RWU and edited upside down
So it looks like the program doesn't apply/display the rotate 180 when importing an image but is doing so when previewing?
