AUTOPLAY NOT WORKING...

Post by luishmpaulo »

...Or I'm doing something wrong.

Hi!

I have a problem/doubt: I put a modal layer on the home page of the site and inserted an HTML video in autoplay on it, but the video doesn't play automatically, despite the field clicked for it.

Any suggestion?

Autoplay of video or audio is disabled by the browser so the user will need to press play themselves to view or hear any audio present. Note this is asked/mentioned frequently in the forum so is unrelated to the software but with how browsers work.

This is from the help:
Note:
Many of today's browsers (for example, Chrome and Safari) block 'auto play' when 'audio' is detected.
The same applies to devices such as Android / iPad / iPhone as they do not support 'auto play' as it is deemed annoying for visitors, it uses more bandwidth, and it can also affect battery life of the device.
You can set the audio to 'mute' as this usually allows the browser to play the video due to 'audio' not being detected, or remove the 'audio' from the video itself. Please note this had nothing to do with WWB.
