not sure where to start

Hello all,

I am not sure where to start with building my first web page. I haven't really used wysiwyg since version 12 and I've forgotten a lot. I have version 17 now.

Is there a basic video tutorial that someone could point me to? Something similar to the "hello world" that most programming languages start with?

For example

first do this, then do this, etc.

I see a lot of advanced video tutorials, but nothing basic.

Do I have to create a "master" layout grid into which I put all the other layout grids, or can I just put one layout grid after another?
Do I need to create one large layout grid and put flex grids inside (for responsive design)?

Just something to get me started, once I get something basic working I can probably take it from there.

Thanks,
- Bill

Greg Hughes used to post YouTube tutorials about Webbuilder, but he called it 90-second Webbuilder. He no longer posts the videos or sells his programs, but the principles remain. These should get you started and you can view his other tutorials.

This is perfect, thank you. I remember Greg's videos but I could not find them. I will definitely bookmark these.

Just to answer your questions:

1. No, you don't need to use layout grids for responsive web sites, but it is easier if you do. Yes you just add them one after another.
2. I wouldn't recommend creating a large layout grid and putting flex grids inside - in fact, I am not sure that is 'legal'.

I have created a template using flex grids and a master page which you are welcome to use - or just dissect to see what is in there. You can find it here https://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/forum ... hp?t=93336 - feel free to ask me any questions.

I hope this helps (as well as the very useful videos).

Alan,

Thank you. I have started up again after years of not using WB and things are now starting to come back to me.

Many thanks.
