Facebook Page Plugin

Post by cmsintent »

Good Day

This issue is for: INSERT > MISCELLANANOUS > Ready-to-Use-Javascripts > Facebook Page Plugin

Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and if there is a work around.

The Facebook Page Plug doesn't work on iPad or iPhone using Safari (it use to??)

I do have Chrome and Edge on my iPad and those do work ... so just a Safari issue.

It works on PC - Edge, Chrome, Firefox

Here is a test page with only the Facebook Page Plugin

https://www.ironindiansedmonton.com/fbtest.html

Thoughts?

Thanks WWBman ...

HMMM ... I see nothing ... my client also sees nothing on his iPhone (he gave me the heads up so I started testing)

I have the same plugin at www.eacc.ca (another car club) ... if you don't mind please let me know if you see that one?

Yes, I see the FB stuff on the right hand side.
On the first one I see the video with text, then an image, then a map etc.

So ... here is the fix ... looks like in last iOS update Apple auto set: SETTINGS > SAFARI > HIDE IP ADDRESS > FROM TRACKERS (both my iPhone and iPad are iOS 15.5)

When I disabled the "FROM TRACKERS" which turns HIDE IP ADDRESS to OFF the plugin works on both my iPhone and iPad when using Safari.

So this Apple setting will affect the plugin's viability as the viewer may or may not know the plugin is suppose to show and then how to fix.

PLUS ... not sure if turning HIDE IP ADDRESS on my devises is a smart thing to do??

Note that the Facebook Page Plugin is a standard Facebook script whihc is loaded from the Facebook servers, WWB only inserts a 'place holder'.
So, WWB has not control over how the script works.
