Parallax image

Post by Lasa »

I have a responsive design with a parallax.. The parallax image is huge works well on all screens.
I have it showing on the smaller mobile...
Does it make sense to make a smaller parallax image for the mobile sizes (turn off the large one on mobile size) or does it real not matter because the large version gets download regardless of it being show on the mobile sizes or not.
Cheers,
Lasa

I have a huge parallax image on a site I have. On the mobile it slows the load down. is there anything I can do to help speed up the mobile without removing the Parallax? The site owners likes the way it looks on their phone.

What is the size of the image? Have you compressed the image?

OMG! I had never tried WebP format wow impressive.
My parallax image went from 297KB to 93.2KB I might have gone overboard a bit but nobody will notice but me.
Thanks Crispy68 you got me thinking about it...
