*** SOLVED *** moved source images during production, cannot publish all

Post by dennis.reese »

moved source images during production, now no amount of correcting source file locations will allow me to successfully "publish all". I can publish each page individually and the site works.

here is the site: https://addaflooringandcabinets.com

here is the wizzy created source files: https://addaflooringandcabinets.com/source/

here are my local source files, put on the server: https://addaflooringandcabinets.com/originals/

here is the error log: https://addaflooringandcabinets.com/sou ... wizzy3.txt

have even tried completely removing slideshow and putting in fresh, no improvement to error log for a publish all.
it appears something in the wizzy file itself (a during publish something) is broken.
how can this be fixed without a complete rebuild?

The software itself will never remove or relocate any of your images. If you yourself have changed or moved the location and they are not found in the asset manager then you can use this to point to the correct location you have moved them to. Once you have done this you will need to republish all files again and this should fix your issue.
Also when publishing to your host/server please ensure that you are publishing to the correct location and folder otherwise they cannot be found and displayed.

Probably not but just a thought:
Have you set "Don't Publish Assets" in the Slideshow properties?

It looks like the connection with the FTP server failed.
Maybe your firewall blocks the connection?
Are you sure the FTP settings are correct?
For example, maybe the web host requires Secure FTP?

I had looked at this with dennis. After upgrading to 17, he received verbose error messages about having spacing in file names. Seems that, at least in 16, the spaces in filenames caused the update of the image location to revert during publish and the log in that version was not verbose enough to enumerate that filename spaces was the culprit. I think he has since removed spaces from file names, set source image current locations, and achieved a successful publish-all. I will ask him to verify that all is now good and to reply as such, on here.

Everything is good now, thanks for the help! Version 17 helps with letting me know I've got an error and where/what the error is.
