Quickly examining various Text Effects

Post by Wolksby »

Hi,

WYSIWYG has a vast array of Text Effects which I can choose from to apply to the first appearance of my name (in a Banner) on my website.

Even though every effect has got a name, which kind of points in the direction of what the actually effect is, but, unless I haven't found it yet, there doesn't seem any other alternative to go through every single Effect, one by one, selecting it, applying to the text in question, previewing the effect locally, and then going on to the next one, which seems laborious!

I'm looking for a Text Effect which, because my website is basically all about Classical Music, is appropriate, rather than an all-singing-all-dancing effect which would look better on a Pop Music site.

I'm also wondering this: I've found a Text Effect which I quite like, and so have applied it to the opening banner on the from page of my website. While each page is the same, I haven't added the effect to any other page, lest it become annoying.

What I would like to do, though, is to turn the text effect 'off' the second time a visitor returns to it in any one session.

At the moment, as a visitor, I open the website, and the effect kicks in. I visit various other pages in the site, but need to return briefly to the home page. The effect kicks in again, and I would rather it didn't. Once I have left viewing my website, and return anew, then it's perfectly desirable for the effect to restart once.

I know there are all sorts of settings like events, etc, and just wonder if there is, indeed, a way for me to achieve my desired effect?

Any help/ideas much appreciated!

Thanks!

Thanks, Pablo - not a problem!

With regards my further query above, about the use of text effects:

<I think I've found a Text Effect which I quite like, and so have applied it to the opening banner on the front page of my website. While each page is the same, I haven't added the effect to any other page, lest it become annoying.

There is no standard way to turn of animations, this will require a custom script.

Thanks for confirming that!

A custom script would seem, to a layman like me, as we say in English, 'taking a sledge-hammer to crack a nut', and more complicated than it's worth, for a very small gain, I'd say.

Thanks, though!
