Saved to new folder

OK - I am trying to save a site to a new folder. I have done a full 'publish' to the new local folder.

Problem is when i load from the new folder there are no images - all the links are looking into the 'user/documents' folder on the computer and not finding anything.

I have disabled and enable the 'Let WYSIWYG manage images' but still no images.

What do I need to change to get WYSIWYG to look in the new folder/images where it saved them ?

What I ultimately want to do is clear the the webhost server and reload a fresh, clean site.
After a number of years (with changes over time) there are a lot of redundant files on the server.

Are you saving or publishing the website?
Note that saving is not the same as publishing.

If you want to save the project and all images to a different folder then use 'Save As' and make sure 'Let WYSIWYG manage images' is enabled.
If you want to publish the website, then make sure 'Publish all files' is selected.

I am publishing .... but it loses location of the images for some reason. If I look in the published location the images are there.

I will try ‘saving’

Thought that had worked but it didn’t save the pages of the website to the new folder.

I am now ‘publishing’ as well to see if the two operations combined give me what I want.

That seems to have worked. Everything seems to be in one place now.

Another quick question - why does it save 2 copies of the images, 1 in /images and 1 in a sub folder it creates of the same name as the project ?
( Not a new thing I know but just curious )

I think you are mixing up two things.

1. The project location (the source). This is the local copy of the project.
2. The publish location (the destination). This is the remote copy, for the server)

That’s fine .... on my local pc I wanted all the project files in one folder .... by combining save (which only saved the images and .wbs to open) & publish ( which saved the actual web pages for the project) to this location I can now see everything together.

You shouldn't do that.

Save the project to a location, but publish to a different one.
