YouTube player doesn't increment YT click number

Hi everybody,
I'm new to this forum and I hope that it's the right one for my question.
I use the YT player on my webside and when I publish a new video I direct people (e.g. from Facebook) to the corresponding website page instead of directing them to my YouTube channel..
I've been wondering for quite some time why the number of views that YT indicates is lower than it should be and checking the YT analytics of a certain video I found out that the total number was far higher than the one indicated beneath the video and that the obvious reason for that is that the views started from my website are simply not incrementing the 'official' number of view although they're shown on the analytics page..
I tried to get some info, but all I found out was that viwes via external websites DO count if the autoplay function is NOT enabled and if js.api is not checked - both are disabled in my YT player.
You've possibly noticed by now that I'm anything but an expert - so maybe one of you guys is familiar with the issue or even can come up with a solution - any replies are very much appreciated.
Cheers
Stefan
