YouTube not doing the auto-play

Post by etcbbu »

Hi all,

Just updated to 15.2.0 , the November 1st 2019 build, and I am trying to use a YouTube video embedded here:

https://www.ktravisj.com/howtousefacebookstory.php

And even though I've gone into the YouTube object's properties and set it to "Auto Play", the YouTube video you see toward the top of the page, there, is *not* auto-playing; even though I do have that box checked in its properties.

What's going on? Is it smashing up against the "particles.js" Extension that I have installed on that page..?

If viewing in Chrome then autoplay is disabled by the browser by default and cannot be turned on. In the likes of Mobile device such as iPhone/Android this is also the case as it is implemented by the browser to save data (even if you have unlimited) and battery life.

Please note this is unrelated to the program but a browser feature. Chrome implemented this (one being auto play is annoying) as the user should have full control of the Video/Audio if they wish to listen/watch or not...

You can try enabling "mute" to the YouTube as this should allow it to autoplay.

Ahhhh, thaaaaaat's why so many of the "click-bait" websites load all of those videos that are muted by default..

Thanks for the insights, BaconFries.
