when i'm working on my site and i scroll down the page, a black background come in from top of page and slides down behind everything. the father i scroll down the farther it slides down making it impossible to see black text. using "view", the more i zoom in, the more the black background disappears.
What have i done wrong or is this normal??

This is not a known issue. It has never been reported by anyone else before.

i bought the software in January of this year. No, i haven't updated. It's a pretty simple website. not implementing any of the "fancy" stuff available with the software. text, images, links.... that's about it. browsers don't show the black background. it's only when i'm working on the site

Even so it is recommended that you always have the latest version installed. You can download and install the latest version at the following:

I'm apprehensive of updates.
i use this site for my business and i have to make frequent (usually daily) changes to our inventory etc..
I can't take the chance of having a glitch or bug knocking me out for any length of time.
The site is working fine as is. It's just when i have to change things (like everyday) when i fight the "blackness".
Happy with the software. just this 1 issue. and i can deal with it.
We're in our busy season now and my site stays VERY busy.

In generally, updates are more stable than previous versions.
Reported bugs are usually fixed within hours (if they can be reproduced).
If you have found a problem that has not be reported before then I need to know the exact step to reproduce this behavior so I can investigate what is happening and look for a fix.
