Animated Round Rectangle Button

I am trying to build a button with round corners that has animated fill colors changing between 2 colors about every second or so.

Shape > Round Rectangle > Animations > Animate Background > Assign 2 different colors > Duration 1000

The problem is that the background animation applies to the shape frame and not the round rectangle shape fill color. I need the button fill colors to animate between the 2 colors. Is there a way to do this?

A shape is an image so you cannot not animate its properties
But you can use a button instead.
