I guess it depends on which country you are in for some really good deals. But I use LCN.com and have never had any issues - and their support is really good.

As alan it all depends where you are for example the following is USA https://www.hostinger.com/ for the UK https://www.hostinger.co.uk
From other members
Hosting recommendations
viewtopic.php?t=97956
Hosting Recomendation - Canada
viewtopic.php?t=99288

Note this is nothing personal but what you paid in 2014 is not going to be the same today. Nothing is cheap anymore and if you do find a cheap plan you get what you pay for such as customer service, uptime, storage etc etc. The few I gave are just examples if you do a search of this section you may find other recommendations from other members and what they use.

I'd be surprised if you found a shared hosting company that did not cap the file amounts or storage size - especially on shared. Beyond that, unless your website barely gets any visitors - you're going to run into bandwidth issues. Most of the hosting companies that claim unlimited bandwidth and storage hide "fair usage" policies in their terms - so be mindful of that.

have used Hostgator for years. I started with a regular account and now have a Reseller account. I host sites for about 30 customers. They mostly work. have had just a handfull of issue over the years. support and help is typically good. only one real issue took several days to fix a customer email issue.

Reseller:
Each customer has their own cpanel
SSL included for each customer account
I have access to all customer accounts for support
with just a few customers at 120 per year your reseller account is profitable

i like cpanel and WHM. i do sites for a couple of customers that have Go Daddy hosting and I really don't like it.

i'd give them a solid 8 out of 10. which is good since my experience with other hosting via customers is (go daddy and a few others) would be 4 or 5 out of 10.

I think if people have basic website should not go to expensive web Hosters. Migration downtime broken links redirects even loss of data or worse drop in search engine rankings.

In terms of webhost providers, I would say it is dependent or your budget and needs. First think of your bare minimum requirement then what additional you might need on the future. Depending on that the initiation should be taken.

I personally used Hottinger for years, but I had a plan where I could host 100 websites with domain and even high storage, but I only had one site so moved on from there. There are some features which the web hosting providers intentionally does not give unless you rent their premium service pack. So, in search of tuna fish, they will throw you a whale on your small boat.

Another example is when first signing up discount rate they will offer 1.99$ but renews at 7.99$ and they make that 7.99$ small and so gray even the hair would fall thinking where it was. So, be aware of that too as we can only suggest based on your capability and needs.

How many files; number and total storage, do you have that caused an issue with Go Daddy?

So ontop of that you say 3 more and are these as large in size? if so then it would explain the $400 price they are asking. Currently looking at GoDaddy in the UK the starting price for 100gb is £21.99 discounted to £10.99/mo, 1-yr term you pay £131.88 today, renews at £263.88. The renewal price after 1-yr would then be equivalent to $342.00 so not far of what they are asking.
I think it time to shop around and hope you can find a better price and if looking to host outside of GoDaddy or however you may still have to pay a fee due to the large size of files so you may save or not.

i have been talking to the people at hostinger
a little over $300 and change for 4 years and 2 free months

tired of godaddy hijacking me (second time)

several months ago they shut down all my sites, didnt say a word to me, and tell me it is because there are allot of files on one of my sites

that site had been there with those files since around 2010

had already paid the hosting for a year then I had to pay another $150 to switch the type of hosting account

If you have a large site to handle, then hostinger does provide professional services. Good choice overall. The hosting plan may suit well.
