Post by crownfield »

it is visible during design.
it is visible during local publish win 10 local
on the server, the text is gone.
font arial, no colors or styles changed, except hover color.

why is the text not visible on a unix server, but fine on a local publish?"
how to avoid this?

Are you sue you uploaded all the fles into their correct folders, with all the correct permissions?

If I had to guess, I'd say there was a css file missing

Without actually see what you have done it hard to give you a helpful answer. But as already mentioned if styles, colours are missing on the text it means that not all files gave been uploaded primarily the css. Please ensure all files are uploaded and try again.

you were dead on.

switching back and forth between local and ftp,
and all files / changed files,
I made a dumb mistake.

missing file maybe css sheet. went away then I published all files.
it may have helped that I had already added a new nav bar, and deleted the old one.
I did suspect that there was a problem with that one.
it may have been copied to a new page. I try to avoid that.
