invisible marquee

Post by crownfield »

as far as I can tell, there is no not any marquee in the website.
I deleted them all.

but I can see it zipping along in front to the index page.

how can I track it down?

StudioSessionLive.com, and you will see it go flying by.
you will see the horizontal menu from the top of the screen
but now it is vertical.

studiosessionlive.com/tfr/pablo should get you the wbs file

Looking at the source code the marquee is still present. Either you have added it via Site HTML or after removal from the page in the software you haven’t republished the page(s) to the server hence it is still showing the marquee over the menu.

The ID of the marquee is: Marquee1
You should be able to remove it via the Object Manager

if you mean asset manager, it does not show.

it shows in the 'masterpage' for index when that is published and you view masterpage, not index.that.

check studiosessionlive.com

both menus are horizontal.

we both know the marquee is there,
but I can not tell you how or why or where.

I don't know how to take it out,
because I can not find where it lives.

No, I meant the Object Manager.
https://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/object_manager.html

Note that I cannot see what you have done based on the published page.
If you need further assistance then please share a DEMO project.

As Pablo stated, the ID of the marquee is "Marquee1". The marquee object is either on your index page or your master page. Make sure you don't have any objects hidden. You should be able to look in the Object Manager and see it there to delete.

Has to be there somewhere. There is no way to tell you where it is at by just looking at the published page. If you can search for the ID "Marquee1" in the object manager then you should be able to locate it unless you added the html code manually via a code object or page/site html.

Otherwise, you need to provide a link to your project file (.wbs) for us to download and look at to locate. Your link above does not work.

marquee1 is in the generated html for the masterpage I think.
I just do not know how to delete the html the editor generated,
or why I can not access it.

I will get back to this tomorrow.
thanks a lot for your help and understanding

The software will not generate the marquee if it's not on the page.

If you need further assistance, then please share a DEMO project.

Hi 'crownfield' - sorry to chip in but maybe Its a simple misunderstanding.

Others keep telling you to look in 'Object Manager' but all you talk about is 'Asset Manager' - they are 2 different things.

If you cannot see 'Object Manager' then go to 'View' at the top of the page and you can turn on 'Object Manager' there. Once turned on you should be able to see and delete the elusive 'Marquee1' item you are looking for, from either your master page or whichever page you added it originally.

and I went to the masterpage, and could see the marquee was there somewhere
(you were right, object and asset managers are different.)

I started selecting and moving assets on the masterpage,
and finally one asset was selected, but not visible. ( marquee with black type)
I deleted it, and the problem is gone

thank you for your patience and and time and help understanding the problem.

One thing you might want to do is to toggle 'object Outlines' (in the View menu). That way, you can see ones even if it's white text on a white background. Of course, that doesn't appear in the published page.
