WYSIWYG 18 Dark Mode

Post by Martin555 »

Hi people,

I have been trying to set up dark mode for my website now that this editor helps you do it, but I think I am missing a fundamental piece of jigsaw that the YouTube clip showing you how to do it, is missing.

I go into my editor, click on option - html- dark color scheme- set manual

I go back and click on insert and place an icon on my homepage. Right click icon and go to object properties- events - add - on click - toggle dark mode.

I then go to preview, and nothing happens when I click the icon, unlike what happens in the YouTube video.

So, what am I missing, do I need to set up a new color scheme for my dark theme, I thought the program automatically chooses the color for you, maybe I am wrong, and if so, can someone point me in the right direction on where I do that.

Thank you for your time in this matter,

Martin.

Hey Martin,

What exactly was the outcome you were looking for? Based on your description, you have a page with just an icon on it. Were you wanting the background to change color? the icon?

Did you check out this tutorial? https://wysiwygwebbuilder.com/darkcolorscheme.html

Did you click on the icon & background and choose "invert"? This will invert it to the opposite color.
If you want to manually determine colors, then in the style manager, you can set different styles (classes) for regular and dark theme and apply those to your objects.

Hi Crispy,

Always to the rescue, thank you.

I had not seen the written tutorial, all I could find was this YouTube video on the forum, so I will read that now.

What I want to happen is, that an icon on my page that you can toggle between light and dark mode, background and text only.

Thank you once again,

Martin.

Hi Crispy,

You've gone above and beyond again with the video tutorial. It is way more in-depth than the one on this forum, a massive thank you.

I am sure others will find it equally informative and helpful.

Martin.
