New Site

Post by zinc »

This is my first site built with 18 for one of my latest FaceBook groups. It uses "Sections" as well as the new PayPal feature. It also uses some Ron's amazing extensions as well as the late [RZ]. I could not have done it without the help of Pablo & Ron who supported me with the issues I was running into. So, a HUGE thank you to them both - Version 18 is mighty good!

This is a one pager

I think one of the "with"s should be "without"!!
The site is too all-singing all-dancing for my liking.
But it's probably just my age!

lovely domain you choose.
the website loading is very long. it open for me in 2 minutes! I check why and I see some things. for example, one of images you attach in page have ~1MB. this is very big size! I offer you :
1. set standard width and height for images,
2. change image formats (png & jpg) to webp
3. try to reduce JavaScript's.
4. use minify option for html/css/js (in wb settings)

? why you do not set lang tag for html
for better information, you can use google lighthouse

Thank you for your feed back

You have a slow connect - The site takes 30 secs if that to load. The images have been heavily optimised - Their dimensions are very high and specifically done this way however I have converted them to WEBP.
The JS cannot be reduced
I am not aiming this site for any SEO optimisation - This is an extension to one of my FaceBook groups and has its own customers.

Nice as always. As for loading for me it is instantly probably down to I have 1gb download. On a side note I still have a couple of log books and boac badge from days of travelling as a kid.

Nice one BF - Great to know you too are a BOAC fan. I run several groups, and this is one of the popular ones and someone offered me the rare adverts which I turned into a book and built this micro-site for it. If you are on FB and like to join, please do so.
