Lost Top Ribbon interface

The Ribbon Interface going across top of page does not stay visible all the time.
It used to but perhaps I inadvertently turned it off to stay in place.
It will only pop up now when an application is required.
Where is the lock in place button for the Ribbon Interface as it is not obvious to me.
