Accidently broke posting rules regarding external assets, sorry.

Post by Fredl »

Sorry Pablo or other mods for my earlier post, I reviewed the rules and understand why you removed my question as it was perhaps too specific to a particular script. I didn't expect help with troubleshooting the script itself so much as best practices when linking to external assets and generic things to check when they don't load. In my case instructions were provided to paste some code between <head tags> which I did, and to paste some other code in <body/> which I presume to mean between body tags. I have done so in the past with no trouble. Are there best practices to observe when linking to external assets, and typical errors that one should consider when the assets do not load? Is it to be expected that some external assets may not load in preview?, I know that some do load fine in preview, such as embedded Google maps etc. There are 9 choices in the HTML "type" drop down selector, "use Div to set the size & position of HTML" is default, which I have left alone in the past. I have tried using a few other "types" but that hasn't helped. I don't expect help with the script itself, all I'd like some pointers on is what might cause external assets not to load at all. Thanks for any tips you might have, and sorry that my earlier post ran afoul of the rules, which I last read many years ago when I began using WYSIWYG Web Builder.

And still awaiting an answer from the wise ones! A little patience perhaps?

Your post was not removed it was simply moved to the url below from the Responsive Section. In general help/assistance is not offered with third party scripts because it is understood that if you wish to use then you yourself understand how to use or insert correctly. With this this said by posting in the "Off Topic Section" then you may (or may not) get help from other forum members on how to use if not then you should contact the original script author for help.

For reference incase some other(s) post that you posted here all along and it is OK to do so to ask for help I moved it to here from the mentioned above so that you may get help.

I hadn't considered that, I noticed it was gone and reviewed the posting rules, under a strict reading I might have violated them, but thanks a bunch, hope for a solution is not lost!
