Rotated text positionning
Hi,
I have upgraded my WWB from 14 to 15 yesterday.
Now I have a problem. When I want to position on the left side of the page (along the border) a text rotated of 90° I can't. Text stops before as if it was still horizontal. Its origine stops on the zero of the ruler.
Is somebody can help me?
Thank you.
Olivier

Re: Rotated text positionning
When you rotate an object, then this will not change the object's original position.
Therefor, if the object is close to the left edge it cannot be moved closer.
You can see the object's outline when you enable 'Object outlines' in the View menu.
In older versions rotated text was converted to an image. WB15 uses standard HTML functionality. So, that is why it works different.

Thank you for your quick answer.
So I have no other way to do it, that using an image with my text inside to do it?

Re: Rotated text positionning
Maybe use a shape instead? A shape is an image and also supports text.

Re: Rotated text positionning
I tried but the text does not rotate when I rotate the shape.
Re: Rotated text positionning
Did you set the text in the shape properties?

Yes I did. When I move the shape the text inside follow but when I rotate the shape, the text does not.
Re: Rotated text positionning
I was not able to reproduce this behavior.. For me it works correct.

Re: Rotated text positionning
Here is my page concerned http://www.garlan-agencement.fr/Espace_clients.php

It works for me.GarlanAgencement wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2020 12:57 pm I tried but the text does not rotate when I rotate the shape.
Are you sure you have used the Shape’s own Text property and not a separate text object?

Re: Rotated text positionning
Sorry for the confusion. It works also for me in fact...
The text set in the shape does not rotate on my page in WWB, but once the page is published, it's ok!
I also had to select in the shape properties 'Publish as CSS3'. Otherwise the text were not published as in my example above...
Last question, why the text (of the shape) stuck horizontal in WWB? And is there anything to do to get this text rotate as the shape in WWB to be more 'convinient'?
Anyway, thank you for the answers.

Re: Rotated text positionning
The text should also rotate in the workspace.
Do you have demo project, so I can see all your settings?

Re: Rotated text positionning
Below the link for the demo project. The shape (with the text rotation problem) concerned is the Shape1 in Layer5
While you have a look on my project, I noticed a new problem (since I have WWB15). It's with the Text1 in Layer3. The text is not published even if I select 'Publish as image...'. Before I didn't have the problem with WWB14 (I know it is a non web safe font).
Thank you

Re: Rotated text positionning
Your project works correct for me.
The text on the shape is rotated, also in the workspace.
Also, 'Text1' on the layer is published.
Do you use Windows 10?
Maybe the issues are related to the DPI settings on your computer?

Re: Rotated text positionning
I am still working on Windows 7.
I had a look on your link. In WB.exe protperties I don't 'Change high DPI settings'. And also Direct2D was already disabled.

Re: Rotated text positionning
Did you install Direct2d support?

Note that I have little control over how Direct2d works under Windows 7.
I strongly recommend to use Window 10 to build modern websites. Lots of functionality is not available in Windows 7.

Re: Rotated text positionning
I tried the update, but it tells me that it is already installed on my computer.
I know that that I have to replace my desktop computer (quiet old now...). So I have to live like that for now or to install WWB on my laptop (with Windows10). Can I switch the licence fronm a computer to another one?

Just one last thing. I installed WWB15 on my laptop and everything's working fine...
