Can't change text colour in multiple table cells

Post by alan_sh »

I want to change the colour of the text in a table, but while it displays it, I can't change it.

Sample WBS file here https://www.dropbox.com/s/mouf6bfp6c7fa ... 1.wbs?dl=0

Open the file, select some cells with text in. Then click 'layout' and then hold the shify button down while clicking on cell properties. A dialog box opens. Select Style. The colur of the text is white but I can't change it to anything else.

Also, if I then click 'cancel', the text colour is changed to white anyway.

The color picker is intentionally disabled, because you cannot change the text color like this. A table is basically a collection of individual text objects and just like in a text object the text color is a character style, not a container/paragraph style.
So, the only way to change the color is to highlight the characters and then apply the color.
This is related to the way Windows internally handles text (character) styles but I will investigate if I can find a way to work around this.

I's appreciate it if you could. I have a lot of cells to modify. I could create a new table style, I guess.

And also, what about if I hit cancel and it still applies the 'white' colour.

Cheers

Thanks for the information.
I was able to reproduce the issue and it will be fixed in the next update.
