Should the index page be the canonical page?

I just ran the "Screaming Frog" (SF) SEO program on my website: https://hybridledlighttower.com (I direct my customers to www.hybridtower.com). SF recognizes "https://hybridledlighttower.com" and it is "indexible". The page "https://hybridledlighttower.com/index.html" is listed as "non-indexible" and this page is listed as the canonical page.
The "index" page in WYSIWYG has the canonical set as "https://hybridledlighttower.com". The index page itself is set to index follow. I searched the html to look for any "non-index" scripts, but found none.
I would think the primary page, https://hybridledlighttower.com, should be the canonical page. Is this normal?
Below is a link to look at the project if needed.
Thanks!
