Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Completely clear the 'test' folder on the server.
Publish to a folder on your PC.
Run Filezilla and transfer the entire folder contents to the server (let it create the image folder).
See if Filezilla creates the image folder.

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
But.. why does it works for your other site?what do you think Pablo, any ideas I can tell them to check?
For the software there is no difference, it is just another location!
I still think this is an issue with permissions.
Did you try to transfer the same files with FileZilla?
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
exactly the same files as before, i tried with Wysiwyg in 2 separate directories and no folder was created which would indicate server not allowing it to do so, however, I just did it with Filezilla and all done in a few seconds as you can see from the link above, so the server is not blocking folder creation or does not seem to have any issues with permissions, just works immediatley with filezilla, so I don't understand what's going on.Pablo wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 3:46 pmBut.. why does it works for your other site?what do you think Pablo, any ideas I can tell them to check?

....and actually i don't know if you remember, but when creating my other site a few weeks ago, I had problems with images not showing up in there too, but somehow it worked eventually and i don't know why....
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
So, you can upload the same files with FileZilla?
Are you using the same FTP setitngs?

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
In that case, it's strange that the server is not returning with any errors.
Maybe it take a while before the files are available on the server?
Do you see the files when you use the 'Explore' option of WWB?

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
well, they were immediately available on the server when I uploaded from filezilla.
Yes I can see them in explore within WWB after uploaded from filezilla.
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Can you upload files to the folder via WWB's explore feature?
In that case, maybe the remote folder is not correct in the WWB settings, so WWB starts in the wrong folder?
If you need further assistance then I need all your settings. I need both of the working and non-working publish location, so I can look if there is a difference.
You can send the information to info@pablosoftwaresolutions.com

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
I deleted all files and folders in the test2 directory using the explore feature, but it would not delete the images folder, coming up with an error. so i went inside the folder, then deleted the pic, then deleted the folder and it worked.Pablo wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 6:10 pm Can you upload files to the folder via WWB's explore feature?

I selected all files and the mage folder and clicked 'upload' it uploaded all files but not the folder. It would not copy/create the images folder. I had to manually create the folder then i uploaded the pic nside the folder and it was fine.
It definately has issues with folders, especially if they have stuff inside them.

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Is your test2 directory under Public_html on the server? For all subdomains on my server they are folders under the root, usually with the domain name as the folder name. Maybe try publishing your subdomain to the root on the server.
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
You cannot remove a folder if there are files in the folder. The folder should be made empty first.

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
You have a problem with FTP, so I need your FTP settings (URL, username, password, remote path, and other settings) so I can try to duplicate the issue.
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
I have emailed you all my sensitive information as requested.
My main site harrykonline.com and zorbathegreek.co.uk are now ok after having made the folders. Please don't touch them. you may make a new sub directory and work in there if you wish.
Let me know what you come up with.
Many thanks
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Thanks for sending the information. I am not going to change anything, I am just trying to find out why it does not work for you.
Do you mean that you now can upload images?
Do you mean that you now can upload images?
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
only to my 2 sites mentioned, becasue I created the folders manually. After that, the software sees the folder and uploads the images correctly with no problem. It just cannot creat the folder itself.
try t yourself and see. Make a new dir and try to upload a test site, no folder is made, then create a folder maually 'images' and the software does its thing.
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
I think you have configured the wrong remote folder.
You will need to set the root folder of the website.
Your current folder
/home/harrykon/public_html
is not the root of your website.
I think it should be
/public_html/
for http://harrykonline.com
and
/public_html/zorbathegreek.co.uk
for http://zorbathegreek.co.uk

this was given to me by the hosting company and even in my c-panel it is like that.
The remote folder given to me is: /home/harrykon/public_html
This is correct.
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Just confirmed with their online help who said..."The root folder is public_html folder. The full path is /home/harrykon/public_html"ha33y wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 4:13 pmHome Directory ..../home/harrykonPablo wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 11:41 am I think you have configured the wrong remote folder.

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
In all of the hosting sites i've had or accessed, i've never put the full path in. The remote folder for the root is simply /public_html.
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Then make sure full permission is given to these folders
/home/harrykon/public_html

Please try my suggestion, it worked for me.

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
i just created a test3 folder and uploaded from WWB using the expolre function directly into that folder using /home/public_html/test3 and it is the same..still no images folder created.
Did you manage to get it to create a folder?
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Thank you but I have no problem uploading my site with WWB or Filezilla however the problem is that WWB cannot create my images folder. I have to create it manually and no one knows why. This is the issue being discussed in this topic, but i do appreciate your input.BaconFries wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 5:35 pm Here is a "How To" for namescheap

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Yes!Did you manage to get it to create a folder?
You will need to use /public_html
/home/harrykon/public_html is not correct
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
If that doesn't work and just to confuse things!
In my Publish settings for the remote folder I never have a "/" before the public_html.
So to test it on e.g. test4 folder try entering the following in the remote folder:
public_html/test4 and see if that works.
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Well I am totally confused, you better show me what you did, and how you did it, becasue it keeps defaulting to my home directory which is :
/home/harrykon/public_html/
I tried to upload within WWB directly using the conventional method and it says upload successful, but I can't find where it uploaded the files to. I set it for the test3 folder according to your advise (/home/public_html/test3) but there is nothing in there.

IT WORKED!!!
HOW? WHY?
I mean, that is not really my home directory....in my c-panel file structure it has /harrykon
also the directions given to me by the hosting was with harrykon....so now I am utterly confused...

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
The public_html folder is the web root for your primary domain name. The full path is actually /home/username/public_html/ (where username is your cPanel username) rather than /public_html/ but in most places you will see /public_html/ instead of the full path, since it assumes you know you are in your own home directory.

Thank you!crispy68 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 6:18 pm The public_html folder is the web root for your primary domain name. However even Filezilla always connects to my home directory using the full path name (including harrykon) this made me even more confused cause It cannot connect directly to the public_html, saying no such directry exists, this made me even more confused.
Anyhow It works and not even their hosting guys told me this, so THANK YOU PABLO, you are a genius my friend!
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Ok so I have another question, why then did WWB still go into the directory with the full path, and upload all files but not folders?
I mean it was still in the same directory.
I mean it was still in the same directory.
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
The only thing I can think of it's due to a permissions thing.
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
That's where I come unstuck, becasue the hosting guys checked and i checked and all permissions are fully open....no blocking on the main dir or sub directories whatsoever. the folders are set to 0750 and 0755 so permissions are not an issue.
..Somthing sinister is at play here ...lol....
