Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Hi and thanks for your reply, I have not changed the location of any folders for different files. When I press 'publish' they all go to the main specified folder on the server correct?BaconFries wrote: ↑Wed Sep 15, 2021 10:48 pm Your images are not on the server please ensure that you have uploaded all images to the correct location and folder. They are also using invalid names i.e they should not contain any spaces, special characters or start with numbers.
See the following
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=131
I am totally stmped as to why all the other files have published but absolutely no images.....
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
I have been through the pics and made sure there are no spaces but still no images will show up on the server. The software does not report any errors on publishing.
Please help, I don't know what else to do.
Thanks

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Make sure have "publish all files" selected in the publisher.
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Yes, I have 'published all files' and 'complete site' as well as complete site backup in zip format....
I hve even deleted everything on the server and uploaded it all again several times, but it's the same....no images.
This is very strange...not even one image will upload to my server....it just says 404 not on server.
why? what am I doing wrong?
Should there be a folder uploaded called 'images' ? if so it is not there, so for some reason it is not creating one.
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Have you tried to publish to a folder on your computer? Try that and then look in the folder and see if there is a folder for your images.
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Maybe the software is not allowed to created folder on the server? For example, because the permissions of the root folder are incorrect.
Or maybe the filenames are not valid for the server?
Or maybe the filenames are not valid for the server?
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Over 100 images seem to be there now, in the 'images' folder.
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
I have spoken to the hosting live chat help, who said..."Per my check, there is no issues on the server side.....I am highle recommend you to contact the developer"
HOWEVER...I have got it to work but had to literally drag my folders from my hard drive backup into the server. Now it works, but this needs to be looked into to see why the software would not create any folders. I even tried creating different folders on the server all with the same result.
When publishing locally, it's all good. so something is going on when uploading to the server. Its also strange that the software does not say there were any errors....at the end of the 'black screen' (which I get when uploading) I get the message 'published successfully"
Crazy right?
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
What you could have done is publish the site "Locally" to see if it copied the images into the "Images" folder or not and then if not sure use an FTP software to upload it yourself.

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Hi, yes I did that and it published fine locally, but when uploaing to the server no folders were published. So i draggen them myself using Filezilla. But It would be nice to know why this is happening.
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Then it sounds like a permission issue at least for WWB...
BTW love the food! Looks good!

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
I'm confused now!
When I first looked at the 'images' folder there were over 100 images.
Now when I look there are just over 50 and they are completely different images.

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
see....crazy things going on.....i shouldn't have to drag folders in myself, that is silly. The software handles all of that automatically, but somewhere, something is astray....
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
To avoid this mess you should not just drag the images but the entire site. This way there would no issues.

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
I would:
Create a 'test' folder on the server.
Create a one-page test project containing e.g. one text object and one image.
Publish Entire Web Site/Publish All files (You'll need to create a new publish profile to publish to 'test' folder').
Go to site in browser.
Does that work?

done....exactly the same thing. No image folder and therefore no image. the text is fine.
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Mmmm, that does suggest a permissions issue.
As a test, create the test 'images' folder manually on the server.
My image folders have permissions of 0755
User: read, write, execute
Group: read, execute
World: read, execute
then repeat the Publish Entire Web Site/Publish All files.
That should work.
So if it does work then it looks like, as Pablo said earlier, that the permissions on the root folder are incorrect.
The permissions on my root are 0750:
User: Read, Write, Execute
Group: Read, Execute
World: none

update...forget what he said, he is an idiot! i just found my permissions and they are set to 0755 on both zorba folder and the new test folder

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
the even more crazy thing is that I created my main site a week ago and had no problem there, all was great (after a few teething problems)
www.harrykonline.com
so how do we explain that? it's on the same server and zorbathegreek is a sub domain running in that dir.....oh boy I'm going mad!

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
As a test I suggested creating the 'images' folder manually and redoing the publish.
Have you tried that?

just tried both 0750 and 0755 , makes no difference, all files are published but no folder is created by wyiwyg ......
I created a folder called images manually and published the site again and the images are put in there, so the issue is to do with actually creating the folders.
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Maybe it's because it's a sub-domain.
What are the permissions on the root and the sub-domain folder?
Does Filezilla run as Administrator?
Try running WWB as Administrator.

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
tried running Wysiwyg in admin mode and published again,....same thing...no folders created. only files....
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
If I manually create the folder and name it images, Wysiwyg does its thing and put all the files where they should be, but it will not create the folder itself....how strange.
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
So the main difference between the one that works and this one is that this one uses a sub-domain?
I should contact the host again and ask them about permissions on the sub-domain, just to eliminate that.

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
In the Publish options (use Edit) set the value to "all" and see what it produces.

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
In this log, everything seems to be ok.
The images are successfully uploaded (according to the server response).

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
What is the url of the subdomain and the 'test' site.
BTW the image 'STAY HOME.jpg' shouldn't contain a space.

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
chatting to hosting online now and he does not see anything blocking or any errors server-side, he said...."It looks like the issue is in the script itself and it is needed to check the path to the subfolders."
Also the sub domins have the same permissions as the root directory so there should be no problems.

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
everyone is completely stumped by this issue, he has gone to the rest of his team to see if anyone else may have any ideas....
to be honest I can't see how it would be Wysiwyg becasue I managed to upload my main site last week....waiting for answers from them and if anyone else has any other ideas, please let me know. I need to get to the bottom of this.

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Are you sure the files are in the right folder?
This folder does not seem to exist:
https://harrykonline.com/test/images/
Note: if it works on the main domain then this can only be a configuration issue.
For the software it does not make a difference where the files are being uploaded to.
No matter where the files are uploaded to, the software will always use the same instructions.
If the server response is 'successful uploaded' then it can only be a server a related issue, right?
Also, note that the software works for hundreds of other users. So, your web host may blame the software, but there has never been an issue before.

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
That's exactly the point Pablo..."the server does not exist" becasue for some reason it is not being created, either by the software, or the server is blocking it from being created..... That's why when I created it manually, the software went ahead and placed all the images in that folder. So the question is....why is the folder not being created?Pablo wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 2:49 pm Are you sure the files are in the right folder?

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
It’s not being created or it’s being created somewhere else.
Try doing a search on the server from the root for the images folder, to eliminate the latter.

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Just got this reply from the hosting....
"Unfortunately, we do not have any issues from our side. Please recheck the issue with your software, because it is looks like the software isn't able to create the folder in the root document."
...."We have checked the main issues from our side - there are no any, if the software developer can say us the main issue that we need look into, sure, we will be happy to check it, but for now, we do not see any issues from the server side."
what do you think Pablo, any ideas I can tell them to check?

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
just checked, the only images folder in the root is from my main site which has only the images contained for that site. I thought perhaps the software could be insterting images from other sites in there too but it doesn't look that way.
So we are stuck with problem that the folder is not being created.....for whatever reason, and everyone is totally in the dark.....why me????
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
Completely clear the 'test' folder on the server.
Publish to a folder on your PC.
Run Filezilla and transfer the entire folder contents to the server (let it create the image folder).
See if Filezilla creates the image folder.

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help

Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
But.. why does it works for your other site?what do you think Pablo, any ideas I can tell them to check?
For the software there is no difference, it is just another location!
I still think this is an issue with permissions.
Did you try to transfer the same files with FileZilla?
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
exactly the same files as before, i tried with Wysiwyg in 2 separate directories and no folder was created which would indicate server not allowing it to do so, however, I just did it with Filezilla and all done in a few seconds as you can see from the link above, so the server is not blocking folder creation or does not seem to have any issues with permissions, just works immediatley with filezilla, so I don't understand what's going on.Pablo wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 3:46 pmBut.. why does it works for your other site?what do you think Pablo, any ideas I can tell them to check?

....and actually i don't know if you remember, but when creating my other site a few weeks ago, I had problems with images not showing up in there too, but somehow it worked eventually and i don't know why....
Re: New website uploaded-no photos-please help
So, you can upload the same files with FileZilla?
Are you using the same FTP setitngs?
