Retrieve a website page

Post by Trugmaker »

Complicated question! I uploaded a new page to my website. After a minor problem I forgot to save it. Some days later I uploaded the whole website without the new page and link to. The page is still viewable but only to me as I know the extension. Question:- Is there a way to retrieve the page complete and add it to my WWB project without the pain of starting again?
Never complain about getting old, the alternative is far worse!

You can use the import HTML feature to do so but this will only import any text and images used. If the page contained jQuery, JavaScripts or other advanced features they will be omitted so you will need to readd these. It may also be possible that you have made a backup of the project that contained this, this would then allow you to simply reopen and make the changes required.

@Trugmaker

I am not sure which version you are using but WB16 has been updated to prompt you to save prior to publishing.

Until you get the page rebuilt (which you will most likely have to do - importing the html will help) you can add a link to the existing page in some way (however you did it last time) and then repub the project and that link will still work with the page on the host.
