Members Only Pages

Post by Nolly »

Hi, I have just set up a members only login to a specific set of pages on my website for 11 members. I now wish to set up another separate login for members to access different pages and not to have access to the other protected pages. Basically I have six groups of members that need to have access to their own specific pages only. How do I get around the problem. I have watched YouTube videos and read all the articles but have not managed to fathom it out. Can any one help please.

You can use 'user roles' to create groups.

In the Login Admin you can define user roles which can be assigned to users.
In the 'Protected Page' object you can set which users can access the page.

Hi there.

I'm trying to grant access to different pages using roles, but for some reason the Role is not being saved in the flat DB
It allows you to select the roles but once click on save, it returns the role to the first one in the list

Image

This is what the DB prompts:

User1|1eaa8bb1958693a23f081acbb5bf08527|one@one.one|User Number One|1|NA
User2|0196f6c4f97df3f48d570c233e46501ae|two@two.two|User Number Two|1|NA

I assume that the "NA" sould be the role, but as I explained above it is not working (You can change all other fields and they are saved just fine)
(The DB was created using "version 14" option, [using WYSIWYG ver. 16.3.0] and it is placed in the root folder of the website)

Any idea or link to a FAQ/guide/tutorial that I could use?

Thanks.

user roles are only supported for MYSQL. This feature cannot be used with a flat database.
